1.    Determine eligibility:

o        Individuals’ and family members’ adjusted gross income (AGI) must be at or below 300% of the U.S. poverty guidelines.

o        Individuals must submit their FAFSA submission summary.

2.    Prepare to apply:

o        Obtain a DENTPIN. Information about the DENTPIN is available at ada.org/topic/DENTPIN.

o        Review all details in the instructions and FAQs.

o        Collect relevant financial documents; 2025 tax returns for yourself and your parents/spouse, depending on your tax status, are required.

3.    Apply to FAP:

o        Create an application, attach all necessary documents, and submit the FAP application by 11:59 p.m. ET on June 2, 2026. While you can save your progress and return to the application later, you can only apply once, so be meticulous and provide the correct information.

4.    Wait patiently for the FAP decision:

o        Do not submit your ADEA AADSAS application. If the application is submitted before your FAP application is approved, you will automatically be ineligible.

o        Decisions will be sent by email starting on June 3, 2026.

5.    Receive FAP notification:

o        If not approved, continue with the ADEA AADSAS application. All decisions are final.

6.    Submit the ADEA AADSAS application:

o        Select three dental schools in ADEA AADSAS and submit them all at once to qualify for the full waiver. Submissions must take place within 30 calendar days of receiving the FAP approval notification.
