Individuals’ and relevant family members’ adjusted gross income (AGI) must be at or below 300% of the 2025 U.S. Poverty Guidelines for the 48 Contiguous States and the District of Columbia. Financial documentation will be reviewed to determine eligibility. Documentation includes 2025 U.S. tax documents, FAFSA submission summary and other earnings information.

Citizenship is not required, but U.S. tax forms are required as proof of eligibility. International individuals with U.S. documentation may apply.

Those awaiting a FAP decision must not submit the ADEA AADSAS® (ADEA Associated American Dental Schools Application Service) application before they receive their FAP notification.

Issued by the Department of Health and Human Services, poverty guidelines are a simplified version of federal poverty thresholds used for administrative purposes like determining financial aid eligibility.

ADEA sets the FAP eligibility at 300% of the federal poverty level, recognizing that the official 100% poverty level may not accurately reflect financial need.
